Exercises can help any man with prostate problems in controlling their bladder. The exercises do not directly affect your prostate, but they help deal with the symptoms.
So, you should do exercises to strengthen those the pelvic floor muscles. If you have heard about these muscles before, they were probably being talked about as muscles that women need to strengthen after childbirth. And these are the same muscles men need to exercise too. In fact, the exercises are very similar for men and women.
These exercises can be done at any time, and don’t need special equipment or clothes. They just need practice and concentration.
To start, learn to find your pelvic floor muscles. When you are urinating, clench your muscles to stop the urination. The muscles you have clenched are your pelvic floor muscles. Once you are confident that you know how to clench these muscles, you can perform the Kegel exercises.
First empty your bladder. Now lie on the floor, drawing your legs up slightly so that your knees are bent and apart.
Now tighten your pelvic floor muscles and count to five, then relax them. Repeat this up to 10 times.
You should repeat this up to 10 times a day.
Once you are confident about the doing the exercises lying down, try the clenching and unclenching while you stand up. You can even perform the exercises sitting down, so there is no excuse not to perform these exercises every day.
This strengthening of your pelvic floor muscles will make it easier to urinate properly, and in particular, to protect yourself from leakage.
